The school embraces and is embraced by 7 marae: 

Korokota at Titoki (our mana whenua); Tau Henare and Eparaima Makapi (Kaikou) at Pipiwai; Te Aroha at Parakao; Te Tarai o Rahiri at Pakotai;  Parahaki at Twin Bridges; Maungorongo at Poroti.   

The school’s catchment area is the Mangakahia River Valley

Twin Bridges, Parakao and Pakotai (north); Poroti and Maungatapere (south); Tangiteroria (west); Pipiwai and Purua (east).

The main contributing schools are Pakotai and Te Horo (Pipiwai). Others are Poroti, Maungatapere, Tangiteroria, Purua. 15-20 students bus in from Whangarei.
